2014 Volcano Pinot Noir
From the hightest slope of the vineyard, the Volcano Block has a choice view of Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. These volcanoes hint at the history of the soil from which this block is rooted. This block of Pommard clone Pinot Noir, planted over 30 years ago, brings lively red fruit with an underlying rihness and grip that nods to the tempestuous history of the land.
Dried cherries and cranberries mingle with aromas of Dr. Pepper, sandalwood, cinnamon, and potpourri. Black plum, dark red cherry, leather, and orange peel flavors are buoyed by dusty tannins. Rustic and edgy, this is a great wine to cellar.
