Our Reserve Pinot is a barrel selection from the best vineyards on the estate, with an emphasis on strength, depth and elegance. The 2014 Reserve brings more intensity but is still elegant from the native yeast fermentation.
Alphabet City is our test kitchen of small-lot fermentations. Barrel-sized ferments with whole clusters turn back the clock a few years and reveal old-world charm, while still highlighting our own soils, climate and ingenuity.
Aromas of Kirsch, tobacco, spice, a hint of jalapeño and a subtle whiff of bay leaf guide the senses to the palate of pomegranate, cran-cherry cocktail, cigar box and exotic coriander. This complex wine develops over time.
Occasionally we find vineyards that are truly special and we purchase their fruit. The Keeler Family farms a 25 acre, certified-Biodynamic vineyard, offering fruit that is a lovely reflection of the Eola-Amity Hills terroir.
Grown on the highest part of the estate vineyard, the roots of the Pinot Noir vines from which this wine is made dig deep into volcanic soil. This provides richness and complexity along with age-worthy grip. This is one for the cellar.
On the nose, smoky berry and dried cherry compliment floral notes, anise and mocha. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering black cap raspberry with a hint of cola. The wine finishes with a spicy note and velvety tannins.
This beautiful fruit from the estate vineyard is a pleasure to work with. Our Biodynamic farming practices allow for exceedingly lovely fruit expression, with classically gorgeous aromatics that come from Gewürztraminer.
Getting the best Pinot Gris grapes each year, the 2015 Roulette is fruit forward with aromas of melon, bergamot and fig. The mouth is full of ripe pear, white grapefruit, dried figs, pineapple and a whisper of lemon thyme.
To highlight the lovely qualities of this variety, we selected the best blocks from our estate vineyard for this reserve Müller-Thurgau. Wild yeasts and small lot fermentations provided complexity and depth of flavors.
The Reserve Gewürztraminer is the darling of our reserve program, making fans wait months between releases. The wine is crafted from our best fruit and select lots. This vintage was fermented in both stainless steel and oak.
The wine opens brightly with ripe kiwi, melon and quince. The palate has a creamy mouthfeel with bosc pear, yellow apple and fig. The finish has notes of oregano, crisp early pear and a touch of lanolin.
