Montinore takes part in the Vinology

Montinore is teaming up again with our fellow North Willamette Vintner members to both teach and learn in the Vinology educational series. Montinore Proprietor Rudy Marchesi offers a course called Organic & Biodynamic Viticulture: A Practical Guide. If you want to learn more about how wine grapes are grown, this is a great opportunity to learn.

Wine and saké are a source of great passion for professionals and wine lovers alike. These handcrafted beverages are the product of one of the most complicated businesses in the world and are subject to many myths and misconceptions. The North Willamette Vintners have pooled their collective knowledge and expertise to host Vinology, a series of classes dedicated to exploring the art of wine and winemaking. Vinology includes two course tracts; one for consumers and one for wine industry professionals.

Beginning in June of 2009, Vinology classes will be held one Saturday a month through October at different wineries located in the North Willamette Valley. Each class will have a different focus and will be taught by experts in that focus area.

Wine Lovers exploring their Passion
The Wine Lovers Series is created for wine enthusiasts of all experience levels. Beginning on June 13th, this series includes topics such as the fundamentals of wine tasting, precision viticulture, sparking wine 101 and Sake 101. Professionals teaching professionals
The membership of the North Willamette Vintners is a collection of family owned wineries and a sakery, including some of the oldest wineries in the Willamette Valley and several small and burgeoning wineries. Due to the collective breadth of experience this group is uniquely suited to share their expertise with other wine professionals. With a focus on industry issues that effect wineries in this political and economic climate classes will include branding your winery, wine closures and controlling cellar contaminates as well as how to transition to organic/biodynamic farming.
