The Designates are three Pinot Noirs that are crafted from the special vineyard blocks that we've identified as particularly unique and yield the highest quality fruit. With extra attention to detail and an additional year in the bottle, the Designates are wines to be followed year after year.
Our 2012 Graham’s Block 7 is a great example of Pinot from the northwestern corner of the Willamette Valley. The medium garnet color introduces a bright aroma of raspberry, black cherry and cedar with hints of pie spice, sandalwood and dried cherry.
Savory herbal flavors, notably sage, intermingle with a deeper version of Parsons’ customary Bing cherry. Chocolate and tobacco notes will increase over time as the fruit recedes a bit.
The powerful fruit and structure of the 2012 vintage makes this the most muscular version of Cataclysm we've produced.
